What is the difference between forging and casting?

Forging shapes metal while it is solid, using compressive force. Casting pours molten metal into a mould. Forging generally produces parts with higher strength and better fatigue resistance because the grain structure is refined and aligned.

Which materials can you forge?

We work with carbon steels, alloy steels, stainless steels, aluminium alloys, titanium alloys, and nickel-based superalloys. The selection depends on the part’s service requirements and the forging temperature range.

What are your typical lead times?

Lead times depend on part complexity, material availability, and quantity. For simple parts in standard materials, we can often deliver within 4–6 weeks after tooling approval. Complex or high-alloy parts may take longer.

What is your typical lead time?

Tooling: 4–6 weeks. First articles: 1–2 weeks after tooling completion. Production lead times: 2–4 weeks depending on volume.

How do you ensure quality and consistency across batches?

In-process inspections, dimensional reports, and material certifications. Secondary CMM inspection available for critical features.

When should I choose forging over CNC machining?

Choose Forging for volumes above 10,00 units – lower per-part cost. Choose CNC machining for low volumes, tight tolerances (±0.002 mm), or thin walls (0.05 mm) not achievable in Forging.

Can you handle small batch sizes?

Yes. While forging is most cost-effective at higher volumes, we also accept small runs, especially for prototyping or low-volume production. Tooling costs are shared per piece, so smaller batches have higher unit prices.

What kind of surface finish can I expect?

As-forged surfaces typically have a roughness of Ra 4.3–8.5 µm. For tighter tolerances and smoother finishes, we offer additional machining or grinding. The final finish depends on your application requirements.
