BEFORE FINISH REVIEW

BEFORE YOU REQUEST A QUOTE Questions About Custom Forging

Review the key factors that affect forging feasibility, tooling investment, subsequent machining and project delivery before sending your inquiry.

Batch Size
Materials
Lead Time
What is the difference between forging and casting?

Which materials can you forge?

What are your typical lead times?

Lead time depends on material availability, tooling requirements, part complexity, heat treatment, machining and quantity. We confirm tooling, sample and production schedules separately during quotation.

How do you ensure quality and consistency across batches?

We define inspection requirements during project review and apply material verification, first article checks, in-process inspection and final verification as agreed. CMM measurement is used for applicable critical features, with records maintained for traceability.

When should I choose forging over CNC machining?

Consider forging when load-bearing performance, fatigue resistance or material utilization makes it suitable for your part. Direct CNC machining may be more economical for small quantities or designs that do not justify forging tooling. Forging and CNC machining are often combined to achieve final dimensions and assembly features.

Can you handle small batch sizes?

Small-batch projects are reviewed individually. Feasibility and pricing depend on material, geometry, forging method and tooling investment. We can compare a forged blank plus machining route with direct CNC machining where appropriate.

What kind of surface finish can I expect?
